National Camogie League Div 2A Round 5

Carlow 4-11

Cavan 2-10

2024 may well have had it’s ups and downs for Carlow so far, but when it mattered most they pulled it out of the bag and found a way to retain their league status for next year.

Despite an early setback, Carlow found goals through Aibha Kiernan and Holly Wall in the first half and with the returning Kate Nolan making an instant impact it meant that Carlow were seven points to the good at the break with the scoreboard reading 2-8 to 1-4.

Caoimhe Jordan was a thorn in the Cavan side throughout and she was rewarded with a goal in the second half having come close in the first after Aimee Nolan had also found the net earlier.

Cavan of course didn’t make it easy on the hosts but the leadership of Eleanor Treacy was crucial and Carlow emerged victorious.
