Ahead of this Saturday’s Round 2 Carlow Senior Football Championship clash with Bagenalstown Gaels, the county finalists of 2022 and 2023 have had a change of Management.

Wexford’s John Nolan took the Tinryland reigns at the beginning of the season, but earlier this week he departed along with his Management team after reports of unrest in the camp in the wake of their 2-12 to 1-10 Round 1 defeat to Old Leighlin last weekend.

Nolan’s backroom team included Richie McGrath, Evan Doyle and John Murphy.

Tinryland have moved quickly and the new management team is in place ahead of the weekend with some well known faces.

It includes All Star Football nominee Paul Broderick, Conor Byrne who in recent years enjoyed great Soccer success with New Oak Boys and Eddie Dowling who served on Steve O’Meara’s backroom over the past couple of years. Dowling is currently in charge of Ballylinan in Laois.

The timing of all of this is quite interesting of course but the intrigue of what happens next is sure to garner close attention both this weekend and indeed the next few weeks.
