With Ruairi Murphy slotting frees to bate the band it seemed that Carlow might be in a position to snatch it near the end.
However Laois pushed on for a 3-12 to 0-15 victory.
The Carlow lads can be pleased with their efforts having competed gamely.
Laois also edged Carlow in the U16 Leinster Camogie Plate Final. A late goal winning the day by 3-6 to 2-5.
Elsewhere in the Leinster Junior Ladies Football Championship it was Longford who prevailed by 3-9 to 4-3 against Carlow. Two late goals swinging it for Longford in the end.
